Not too long ago I’ve received a question about Meta Trader 4. Well, the reader needed an advice on the following problem:
When I open a new graph, it always looks very ugly and I have to customize the newly opened graphs again to suit my needs. I am referring to candle colors, background, grids and basic indicators, such as Bollinger bands. Isn’t there a way that this could be done by itself?
This might seem as not a big problem, but in reality it could drive one crazy. Setting up the graph exactly how you want it could be tricky and you could lose your precious time.
How to resolve this?
The solution is quite easy. All you need to do is – to create a template, then use it with the graph and change whatever you need. Now, I’ll show you how to do that.
How to create a template in MT4?
- Open an empty graph.
- Now set everything up as you want it. You can use these instructions: Work with graphics in MT4.
- Now you need to save the template, by clicking on these 2 bottoms.
- Now, choose a name for the template.
- That’s it!
How to use the template?
There is an unlimited space for your templates. You can choose one of the templates you create very easily; just like this:
- Click somewhere on an empty spot in the new graph > Template > Choose the one you’ve just created.
Finally, a little trick
This is all nice, but is there anything else that could make our work a bit easier? Yes! You can set up the template in a way that it opens in the new graph automatically. This can be done simply by naming the template: default.
We’ll have to rewrite the existing template, so don’t be afraid to press OK after a new window pops up.
I hope you liked the new episode and don’t be afraid to leave us a comment below the article.
